Quick Drag – Just Drag to Open the Link
You must have tired of copying the link from one page, opening another page/tab and pasting the link into the Browser URL to open the link, right? But, Firefox has now come with the add-on that can save your time and effort of doing this. You can just drag and open the link in another tab or you can save the image by just dragging it and placing it somewhere on the page.
Probably, one of the must have add-on for the Mozila Firefox, isn’t it? Yes, it actually is.
Quick Drag extends the functionality of the drag and drop mouse gesture, in order to use it to load the URLs. It can perform a web search of the selected text in a page or it can help you to save an image from the page. This add-on is compatible with Firefox as well as with Seamonkey.
You can say that, Quick Drag is a successor of the SuperDragAndGo. This add-on is providing the same functionality with the small footprint. Please find the general information at http://code.kliu.org/quickdrag/ and FAQ at http://code.kliu.org/quickdrag/faq.html.
Tricks & Tips:
1. There is an add-on setting if you want to use the behavior of old Quick and Drag functionality to opening a link in a new tab rather than searching for it.
2. There is an option of opening an image in new tab, if you don’t want to save them. You just need to hold Ctrl [Control] button while dragging the image.
3. If you will hold Alt [Alter] button while dragging a URL, you will be able to save a tab rather than opening it in a new tab.
4. If you will hold [Shift] button at the time of dragging and dropping, you will be able to reverse the
background/foreground tab behavior of the drag. (i.e. if your setting will be opening it in a background tab, this will open it in the foreground tab).
